Drinking Isn’t Sexy

It’s just the lie that Big Alcohol needs you to believe

*This comes across as a lot less snarky and judgemental if you read it as a letter that I wrote to myself.

Have you ever been completely sober at a gathering or event and had to socialize with drunk people — even for 2 or 3 minutes? Of course, you have, Dave.

I mean…whoever is reading this.

After being subjected to their disgusting booze breath, their obnoxious laughter, and their redundant (often inappropriate gibberish), did you ever think to yourself, “Wow — they sure are sexy!”

Probably not — even if they were pleasing to the eyes.

The only way to stomach talking to drunk people is to be drunk yourself.

Yet, when you’re the one that’s been drinking you tell yourself that you’re funny, witty, sharp, debonair, and sexy.

If other people are annoying and “un-sexy” when they’re drunk — why would it be any different for you?

When you’ve been drinking, you look and sound exactly like everyone else who has been drinking.

You can surround yourself with other drunk people who are laughing for no reason, acting stupid, and talking…
