I do get a lot of push back from my criticism of AA (from members obviously) and while I applaud anyone who gets sober, I also want to share MY experience in AA.

People hear the positive stories, but AA is not above criticism. Nor should any other group or method for sobriety be immune to it. It's how we improve it.

Allen Carr's book was tremendously helpful, but I also attend SMART Recovery as my support group. So, the book isn't in lieu of a support group, but what it contains is not compatible with AAs "Only God can restore you to sanity" philosophy.
