I’ve been following your sober journey and reading your articles, Jordan, and I’ve enjoyed all of it. I remember when you were just a couple of months in. 🙌🔥
There’s a book I want to recommend to you personally, that I never knew about until I was many years sober, and only picked up because I thought the title was ridiculous.
Allen Carr’s “The Easy Way To Stop Drinking.” That book changed my life.
I’ve noticed that one of the themes in your articles is “dealing with temptation” and this book helped me a great deal in that regard. It completely changed the way I viewed drinking alcohol.
It emphasizes that drinking alcohol isn’t something you should be “tempted“ to do any more than you should be tempted to walk out into oncoming traffic.
I know that sounds crazy, but his argument was so compelling that it became my new way of looking at alcohol.
Once I realized that my cravings and temptations were just years of societal programming— all of the cravings and temptations went away. I think you would really enjoy the book… if only for a completely new and fresh perspective on alcohol. ❤️💯
