Men Have Set The Bar Too Low
And women are letting them keep it there
I don’t do dating apps.
Correction: I did dating apps for a brief, soul-crushing period just after signing my divorce papers, which may or may not have been in the law firm parking lot.
…And that’s why I don’t do dating apps. I don’t care whether it’s Stumble or Cringe — they all suck.
But ask anyone about the current state of the dating world in general, and you will undoubtedly hear descriptions like shit show and trainwreck — or that the dating pool is filled with brown algae and baby urine.
I’m not here to argue any of those points, except maybe, “How do you know it was from a baby?”
So, I’m not blaming the apps for everything. On the contrary, I have dear friends who met on a dating app and seemed destined to find each other in this crazy world.
I hesitate to use the term “soulmate,” even in their case, only because there are 8 billion people on the planet, and it seems unlikely that anyone would be lucky enough to find the one person on Earth that they were destined to be with — who just happened to live 20 minutes away.
