I wanted a new support group. I had attended hundreds (maybe thousands) of AA meetings, and something was always missing.

I always felt like there was too much focus on your “character defects” and being a “diseased alcoholic” and not enough on your inherent talent, strength, and skills.

In other words, AA was all about where I had been. What about where I was going?

It may have been cheaper than therapy (maybe?), but it can be very time-consuming, and therefore, it costs money.

When you’re a newcomer, it will be recommended that you attend “90 meetings in 90 days,” so after you add up the time, the gas, and the dollar in the basket at every meeting — just do the math.

Instead of waiting for “them” to do something about it, I started one myself with the help of my good friend Adam, a licensed psychologist.
