Have you ever noticed that those who seem to live and breathe for their 2nd Amendment rights ignore the 1st Amendment completely?

Proclaiming, even at a high volume, that America is a “Christian nation” isn’t just blissful ignorance. It requires an almost categorical denial of everything our country was founded on, a blind spot that rivals that of an 18-wheeler.

Article VI of the Constitution states, as emphatically as possible, that “no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”

And to remind people (though some still need to be reminded in 2022), Congress and all the states added the First Amendment to the Constitution in 1791, reiterating the nation’s areligious position by barring government establishment of any religion.
