Is a terrible reason to get married

I’ve heard that answer to “Do you wanna get married someday?” so many times that it deserved an entire article.

I’m endlessly inquisitive, so I ask single people in their 20s and 30s how they feel about marriage and if they think it’s in the cards for them.

First, there’s no wrong answer to that question.

But…it’s crucial to consider why you want to get married — or why you don’t.

If you want to get married someday — that’s great! Conversely, If you don’t think it’s the right path for you, it probably won’t be.

The last thing you should do is get married because of societal (or family) pressure. That’s a recipe for ending up in divorce court.

Marriages end in divorce 50% of the time, so at the very least, you have to go into it believing it’s your best decision.

I did — and I still got a divorce.

I don’t regret getting married, not for a second, but I also don’t regret getting divorced. Of course, it wasn’t the original plan, but my sons are the cornerstone of…
