Why Athletes And Artists Should Never “Shut Up And Play”
We need non-politicians to scrutinize politics
I used to be a Ted Nugent fan.
Terrible Ted.
The Motor City Madman.
He was a guitar hero and a rock god — and I grew up on anthems like Stranglehold, Free For All, and Great White Buffalo.
Now I can’t stand to listen to him.
It’s not his music that I don’t care for (does he still make music?) — it’s his unhinged rants and ideology.
His social and political statements are often considered far-right, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a public figure on the right whose ideas are as blatantly racist, misogynistic, and childishly ignorant.
I mean, there is that one guy, but besides him — maybe David Duke?
Unfortunately, Nugent prefers The Detroit Free Press.
Here are a few of his greatest hits…
“My being there (South Africa) isn’t going to affect any political structure. Besides, apartheid isn’t that cut-and-dry. All men are not created equal.”
